Privacy

The short version: the app runs offline and sends nothing. The only personal data we ever store is the email you purchase with.

What we store

Your email address — and, if you sign in, your app settings. Four cases:

• Waitlist email, if you join the launch list. It is stored with Kit (our mailing-list provider), used only for launch and product emails, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
• Purchase email, once Pro goes on sale — so we can issue your license and attach it to your account.
• Sign-in — when you sign in inside the app we store your email, a per-Mac session (a random token, a name for the Mac you chose, and when it was last seen), the date your free trial started, and — only if you tick the optional mailing-list checkbox on the sign-in screen — that you opted in (that address then goes to Kit, the same list our website's own form uses). If you leave settings sync on we also store a copy of your Remote Wand settings so your other Macs get them. Sign out removes the session; you can also sign out other Macs from the app. Sync is off the moment you sign out. Your first sign-in also triggers one welcome email, sent through Resend. Kit and Resend are the only outside services that ever see your email address. No end-to-end encryption: settings are stored server-side over TLS, and they never include passwords or keystrokes.
• License-recovery requests — if you use the recovery form we log the address and the time, only to rate-limit abuse; the response is the same whether or not we have a license for it.

We don't store names, addresses, hardware identifiers, or usage data. The sign-in code emailed to you expires in 10 minutes and is stored only as a hash.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Paddle as the merchant of record. Paddle handles the checkout, card data, invoices and taxes under its own privacy policy — card details never reach us.

The app

• Offline. The free tier needs no account and no internet connection, ever. The trial and Pro sign in once — an email and a 6-digit code, no password — and then work offline; the app just checks back in every 6 hours. The Pro license itself is a signed file verified locally on your Mac.
• Zero telemetry. The app contains no analytics, no tracking, and no phone-home of any kind.
• Crash reports will be strictly opt-in — and the mechanism is not active yet. Today the app sends nothing, ever.

This website

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookie-free counter with no cross-site tracking and no individual-visitor profiling.
